Praise be to Allah and May Allah’s peace and blessings upon his beloved prophet Mohammad and those who follow his guidance till the Day of Judgment.
We have spoken about the crime of adultery last Friday, the crime which Allah has prohibited in the Quran as He says:” And do not go near to adultery. It is an indecent action which opens the road to may evils.” We have also talked about some of the evil and harmful consequences that result from the perpetration of this major sin.

Today, we will talk about some of the other harms that this crime tends to cause.

First of all I want to state that the appearance of this shameful deed and its spread in any society is a sign of an imminent destruction of that society.
It is narrated in the two authentic books of Hadith that part of what the Prophet (P.B.U.H), in his speech on eclipse prayer ( Salat AL.Kosoof) said was:” O Community of Muhammad! By Allah no one is as shocked and angry as Allah whenever his male or female servants commit adultery.” O Nation of Muhmmad! By Allah, if you just know what I know, you would have laughed little and wept much, he then raised his hands and said: “O Allah! Bear witness that I have conveyed.”

The prominent Muslim Scholar Ibn El,Qaym said: ” there is an amazing secret for him who contemplate in the prophets mention of this major sin in the wake of the eclipse prayer that leads us to believe that the spread of fornication is one of the signs of the destruction of the world. When the sun changes and its light is gone through eclipse; that is an indication of a transformation from a good to a bad state and this again can be attributed to sins. And it was for this particular reason that the Prophet (P.B.U.H) referred to the unhealthy and destructive nature of adultery on the occasion of the eclipse of the sun.

This shameful deed is circulated among people through various media outlets such as TV channels, internet, mobile phones, photographic images and certain magazines and papers that are exclusively devoted to this immoral activity and have become available all over the place. Prophet (P.B.U.H) warned us against every single act which leads to this major sin when he said: “the adultery of legs is walking (towards an unlawful woman with bad intention) and the adultery of the hands is touching and patting and the adultery of the eyes is casting passionate glances (at women).”

Even though adultery is strictly prohibited in Islam, one can not help wonder when he looks into the statistics as it speaks of a significant spread of this crime among Muslim minorities in the west. For Example, Muslims represent 18.5 % of people involved in this sin in Denmark. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) warned us against five dreadful and destructive things about one of which he said: “adultery never appeared among a people so much so they make it known or public but plagues and diseases, never seen and experienced by their forefathers, will spread about among them.
On the other hand Abdullah Ibn Masaud said that the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said in another hadith: “adultery never appeared in a town but Allah let it be destroyed.” And the tsunami disaster is at all distant from us.

One of the terrible consequences of adultery and fornication is the circulation of many precarious and destructive diseases which ruin the body such as AIDS. The death rate of AIDS sufferers is 48% within a year, 78% within two years and 92% within three years. And this is evidence that the death rate among AIDS sufferers is approximately 100%.
As many as 950.000 Americans may be infected with HIV and as many as 100.000 Germans may be infected with the same disease, 98% of whom are unaware of their infection. There are also a number of venereal diseases such as syphilis and gonorrhea that result from perverted and impure sexual intercourse.

Allah gives glad tidings to the believer who preserve their own private parts and warns the adulterous ones in the Glorious Quran saying:” it is the believers who are successful: those who are humble in their Salat; those who turn away from worthless talk; those who pay Zakat; those who guard their private parts-except from their wives or those they own as slaves, in which case they are not blameworthy; but those who desire anything more than that are people who have gone beyond the limits.”

Isn’t it time for those who commit adultery and fornication to repent and return to Allah? Allah Most exalted in part of His description of His true servants say in the Quran:” those who do not call on any other God together with Allah and do not kill anyone Allah has made inviolate, except with the right to so, and do not fornicate: anyone who does that will receive an evil punishment and on the day of rising his punishment will be doubled and he will be humiliated in for ever, except for those who make Tawba (repentance) and have Iman (faith) and act rightly: Allah will transform the wrong actions of such people into good-And Allah Ever-forgiving, Most Merciful.
