Dear Brother and sisters, today we will be talking about the noble Qur’an, the essence of the Glory behind this Ummah and its honor, as Allah says,?“And indeed it is for you and your people a reminder”? Also Our Lord tells us about the Qur’an,?“And indeed it is the noble Qur’an in a sealed book; none can touch it save those who are the pure.”?In such terms does Allah describe the Qur’an, which was revealed via the Arch Angel Gabriele impressed on the heart of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.), as guidance for mankind.?“A book we have sent it down to you, to take out man form the darkness to the light.”?Whoever holds fast to the Qur’an will be guided to the right path, Imam Termizi narrates from Ali (ra),who said, “I heard the messenger of Allah say:?“indeed there will be much trial and tribulation”, I said Oh messenger of Allah what will be the way out of all this, He responded, “the book of Allah, you will find in it news of what has past and news of what is to come and a ruling over matters in which you differ over, it is the criterion, it is not to be taken lightly, whoever seeks guidance in other than it will be led to error by Allah, it is the strong rope of Allah, and the wise admonition, and the right path, none who seeks from it can go astray , nor do the tongues find it heavy, nor will scholars be able to fully encompass it, the marvels in it are never ending, the jinn upon hearing it had no alternative but to say “We have indeed heard a wonderful Recitation, it guides to all that is right, so we believe in it.”

Whoever speaks from it will say the truth, whoever acts according to it will be rewarded, whoever judges according to it will always be just, and whoever calls to it will be guided to the right way.”?It was for this guidance that the Shariah placed signposts on the way for the guidance of people and then ordered them to follow those signs and warned them of the consequences of failing to obey.?“Let those be warned, those who contravene its decree, that they will be afflicted with a tribulation or that they will be afflicted with a painful punishment.”?The Qur’an contains everything that is needed for human beings to attain happiness, sometimes this is detailed and other times in general statements Allah says, “And indeed we have sent down the Qur’an explaining everything.” And he says “and everything we have detailed thoroughly.”

Like wise the Qur’an is a literary masterpiece – a miracle that Allah has challenged man to bring the like of, however despite the passing of centuries they have miserably failed. Rather the enemies of Islam know the effect the Qur’an has on the hearts of man and have tried their greatest to stand in opposition to the Qur’an, and from the very day it was revealed they said “Do not listen to this Qur’an and cause disruption as it is being read.”?They have tried as time has gone by to extinguish the light of Allah, but they have and will always fail miserably,”?Allah says “they would like to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths; however Allah refuses except that his light is completed, even though the disbelievers they may hate it.”?“Allah will complete his light even if the disbelievers hate it. It is he who sent his messenger, with the guidance and the religion of truth, to make it supreme over all other ways of life, even though the polytheist they may hate it.”

We are confident that this promise of Allah will come true, however when we ourselves have thrown the book of Allah behind our backs and have abandoned the Qur’an in all ways, when we have abandoned listening to the Qur’an and stopped acting according to it, and disregarded standing firm regarding what is lawful and prohibited in the Qur’an, and ruling according to its legislations, and curing our hearts from the diseases of the hearts, when we have abandoned understanding the Qur’an and contemplating over it and reciting it, when we only used the Quran for occasions and events such as weddings and funerals, it became easy for our enemies to disregard the Qur’an.?It can be said, our enemies could never have shown scorn for the book of Allah and made a mockery of it if it wasn’t for our weakness and feebleness.?For sure those who desecrated the Qur’an have committed a huge crime.

It is upon all the worlds intelligent people to stand against the desecration of the Qur’an and in fact all the religious and revealed texts.?As for us Muslims we will never go down to the level of those who don’t show a care for religious texts. We warn all not to play around with the religious and sacred texts because it represents a red line that none should cross, because the one who crosses this line wants to bring the world to a place from which there is no turning point and none knows what the outcome will be except Allah.

Those who desecrate the Qur’an they are traders of war – that’s their business, they are enemies of all things religious and they ignite the flames of chaos and want to bring about a clash of civilizations.?Our duty today my dear brothers and sisters is to defend the Qur’an by returning to Allah and holding on to the rope of Allah and to gripping to the rules of his book.?As for those who wish to make a mockery of this book and this religion we say to them, enough of this oppression, for indeed the lifespan of an oppressive state is but an hour in the annals of time and truth will eventually replace it until the coming of the hour.
