What a day!!!!!   Ilhamdulilah for the sunshine too !!!!! The ICCI generously outdid their usual annual program, well done staff and volunteers.

The day was filled with fun and excitement for families and friends.

Wonderful Bazaar with many exotic foods from across the divides of the Muslim World was held in the ICCI hall.  Outside on the grounds in the warm sunshine the Golden Olive Restaurant organised a very tempting BBQ, alongside the girls painted the faces of the youngsters with a sea of colours and an array of images, from fairies to zombies.

A big thank you to An Garda Siochana who contributed greatly to our program with a stand in the bazaar, to members from the mounted unit (with horses), a motorbike for photo opportunities and the commitment of four of the Gardai who remained with us for the day. Thank you Garda Tara, Garda Dermot, Garda Niall, and Sgt Andy who alongside Sheikh Hussein Halawa presented the winners of the football and tennis table tournaments with their respective trophies and medals.

Balloon modellers were kept busy for the day with the inundated requests from young children for crowns, dog shapes, giraffes, flowers, and the most popular sword shapes for our young boys.

However,  the spotlight on the day shone upon ‘Wooly’s Farm Animals’, who drew crowds of children and parents to their display of  small and large animals, and offered the opportunity for children to hold the animals and take photos with them.

Popcorn and candyfloss provided and sold by Sr Monsurat went down a treat and ice-cream was a popular buy on the warm day.

The football tournament proved tiring but was thoroughly enjoyed, especially by the Yathrib team who were overall winners on the day and were presented with the annual cup and medals, well done to our brothers from Saudi Arabia.  Runners up were the team representing Iraq, well done; the brothers also were presented with a cup and medals.

Trophy for best goal of the tournament went to Br Tarek Attoura.

Trophy for best player of the tournament went to Br Anas Kechkar.

Congratulations also to Dr Ali Selim, once again winner of the table tennis tournament, who was presented with a beautiful glass vase trophy, and runner up Br Younes Bengharbia was presented with a crystal clock trophy.

Well done to all who contributed to making this day such a success.
