The ICCI hosted the launch of the Sisters of Faith for Peace, the Sisters of Faith for Peace is a newly formed group of women from the Abrahamic faiths (inclusive of all faiths and none) and from different countries and cultures who are concerned about peace and are coming together as sisters and friends, uniting beyond the boundaries of their faith beliefs.  They are keen to demonstrate that all religions and cultures can work together for a common goal, and that women have the potential to help overcome religious and cultural differences for the sake of peace.

The ICCI representative; Summayah Kenna, was privileged to welcome Ireland’s First Lady Sabina Higgins to the Centre, Sabina later launched the group: Sisters of Faith for Peace (SFP).

During an auspicious evening program that was celebrated by many guests from different faiths, including many of our distinguished Muslim community members, speeches were given by Doris Mc Cann (Chairperson of SFP), First Lady Sabina Higgins and Marilyn Turkovich (Interim Director of Charter for Compassion).  The representatives of three faiths (Judaism: Ms. Estelle Menton), Christianity (Ms. Sabina Anokwu) and Islam (Ms. Fardus Sultan) also performed a tree planting ceremony symbolising a unity - different but united for the purpose of peace.  The evening rounded off to the enjoyment of our guest with the indulgence of delicious delicacies prepared and presented by the Golden Olive Restaurant team.

All guests were presented with a beautiful flower plant at departure with the intention of nourishing the plant just as the concept of peace needs to be nourished.

This event was sponsored by the ICCI and WFWP Ireland.
