The Centre organizes an Intensive workshop on Media and Politics

The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland held an intensive workshop on “Media and Politics” on Saturday 19th September 2015 in the Seminar Room. The workshop brought together management and staff of Islamic centres and Muslim organizations across Ireland. The full day course was delivered by Mr Azad Ali and Yusuf Tai of the UK-based Muslim Engagement and Development “MEND”.
The workshop, which attracted more than 30 representatives from a dozen different organisations was composed of seven presentations, a few exercises and group discussions as well as Q&A session following each session.


The training aimed to achieve the following objectives:
• Building the professional capacity of staff working for Islamic Organisations
• Building key skills in dealing and engaging with the media.
• Looking at ways organisations can efficiently engage with their political systems in order to effect change.
• Empowering all involved with such organisations to play a part in becoming active.
Following the course, the participants expressed their deep appreciation to the workshop providers for how they led the workshop and to the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland for holding such an important training course.


Training package consisting of printed materials as well as lunch & refreshments were provided to the participants.


The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland would like to thank not only the trainers for all the efforts they made throughout the day but also to the invitees some of whom had travelled from afar and participated so readily throughout the Saturday.
