On Saturday, the 16th September 2023, An Garda Síochána hosted a re-dedication ceremony to unveil the refurbished Garda Monument of Remembrance, remembering all Garda personnel who died while in service since the organisation’s foundation. The re-dedication ceremony took place in An Garda Síochána Headquarters in the Phoenix Park. The refurbished Garda Monument of Remembrance features the names of over 1,800 Garda personnel who died whilst in service since the organisation’s founding in 1922. .
Sheikh Hussein Halawa and Mr Shaheen Ahmed were in attendance.
