On Friday, 27th of April 2018, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland held a lecture by Dr. Ali Alshubaily entitled “The Prophet (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) As a Teacher.”

Dr. Alshubaily, who is a professor at the Imam University in Saudi Arabia, began his lecture by conveying how the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the only teacher known to man, who laid out the groundwork for spiritual education to humankind, in all aspects of life. He did this by leading by example in his own daily life. Dr. Alshubaily focused specifically on the mannerism of the prophet PBUH, and quoted the following hadith which acted as an inspiration for the remainder of his lecture “The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best to my family.” Dr. Alshubaily detailed the unique relationship between the prophet PBUH and his wife Aisha RA, and compared it to modern relationships between husband and wife.

The lecture was both informative and interactive, as Dr. Alshubaily posed questions to the attendees and offered them gifts in the form of dates from Madinah.

Overall, it was an enjoyable lecture with great feedback from the audience.
