A group of 65 students from the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College, paid a visit to the ICCI on Friday the 28th of February, an annual activity mutually organised by the ICCI and TCD.

They attended the Friday sermon delivered by Sheikh Hussein Halawa. This was followed by a talk delivered by Dr Ali Selim in the seminar room. During his talk, Dr Selim highlighted main Islamic values elucidating in particular issues of sociopolitical nature.

He stressed gender equality shedding light on the difference between equality and sameness. His talk was followed with a number of questions pertinent to sectism, mixed marriages and interfaith issues. Reciprocal respect proved itself to be the cornerstone of coexistence.
