Eid Al-Adha was celebrated on Tuesday 21st of August. The Eid prayer took place at 8am, followed by the Eid khubah (sermon) which was also translated into English.
An Taoisheach Leo Varadkar accompanied by Ms Josepha Madigan TD were welcomed at the centre following the Eid prayer. The Taoiseach and Ms Madigan took a tour of the grounds, meeting with community members and children. They were then brought on a guided tour of the mosque interior after which they sat with senior management for some refreshments. The Taoiseach also held a press conference with the Irish media.
Tea/Coffee and pastries were served to the men and women after the prayer. Sweets were distributed to the children.
The activities and BBQ commenced at 11am until 4pm. The rain stayed away and the sun remained shining throughout the day.
A great day was had by all.
