The Youth Department of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland in cooperation with the Federation of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) held a two days training course titled “Leadership Development Masterclass”. The course took place on 23 – 24 February 2019, in the ICCI Seminar Room.
Each of us thinks that we have a good idea about what it means to have good leadership and to be a good leader, but when it comes to defining the concept, the picture is not so clear. For some, leadership is motivation, for others, it equals results, for others it is inspiration. This class answered many of the questions, inspired a vision and gave the right perspective on leadership.
The training consisted of definitions of leadership, positions, relationship, characteristics, values, and ethics of good leadership. It also outlined approaches to leadership; Servant Leadership, Autocratic leadership, Democratic Leadership, Authentic leadership.
It gave different tools like: Tuckman’s stages of group development, Belbein’s team roles, Emotional Intelligence, Personal types, Strategic development and Individual SWOT analysis.
The feedback of all the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Thank you!
The Youth Club of ICCI is a member organisation of FEMYSO. FEMYSO aims to ensure that all its members have the highest level of services and support. This is done with the aim that the Muslim Youth must increase their participation on the most relevant issues in their communities and countries, and engage in pan European issues through the FEMYSO network. Such trainings and support can achieve these goals.
The FEMYSO team was presented by:
- Hajar Al-Kaddo – Member, Board of Trustees
- Abdulrahman Rizk - FEMYSO Vice President & HR professional
- Ahmed Ashour - PhD fellow researching leadership and management, University of Manchester
We would like to extend our deep gratitude to the FEMYSO team who was with us and delivered this very important, inspiring and much needed training.
