Taking into consideration inflation the following increases have been made (see statement from the Irish Council of Imams below):

Dear Brothers and sisters, Muslims in Ireland
Asalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatu
May Allah accept our fasting, prayers and the entirety of our good deed
Congratulations again on such a blessed occasion
Upon checking the price of foods specified by the Prophet, peace be upon him, as Ramadan’s Zakah (Fitrana) and in light of the current inflation and increased prices, increasing its value in cash has become an inevitable solution. Henceforth, the value of Ramadan’s Zakah (Fitrana) in cash has increased to 9 Euros at the least estimation in Ireland. Also, the Fidya amount (the sum paid for feeding, in the case when the person is exempted from fasting), has also changed, yet its determination is entirely dependent on each person’s respective economic status but should not be less than 12 Euros anyway
May Allah accept your deeds
