On Tuesday the 19th of June, Mr Ahmed Hasain, representing the ICCI, attended a dinner in Leinster House for representatives of the religious and faith communities in Ireland.
The kind invitation was extended to the ICCI by the Ceann Comhairle, and represented an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual concern as well as to explore common issues. This opens the door for both the Oireachtas and faith leaders to discuss future proactive engagement in areas such as housing provision, migration issues, inclusion and religious tolerance.
The Finnish Ambassador to Ireland, Her Excellency Jaana Teckenberg, gave a short presentations to the group, to outline some of the work being done in Finland in relation to social policy, housing and such matters.
