The National Day of Commemoration is an annual event held in Dublin, Ireland, to honor all Irish men and women who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations. This solemn occasion takes place every year in mid-July at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, a historic site that provides a fitting backdrop for the ceremony.

The event is attended by the President of Ireland, the Taoiseach, members of the government, representatives of the Dáil and Seanad, the Council of State, the judiciary, and the diplomatic corps. Military honors are a central feature, with representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Corps, and Reserve Defense Forces participating. The ceremony typically includes an interfaith service, reflecting the diverse religious beliefs of those who have served. Sheikh Hussein Halawa was in attendance with our CEO Ahmed Hussein and a member of the ICCI PR team Mr Shaheen Ahmed. Sheikh Hussein recited some verses from the Qur'an.

The ceremony begins with a military parade, followed by the laying of wreaths to pay tribute to the fallen. A moment of silence is observed, and the Irish national anthem, "Amhrán na bhFiann," is played. The President delivers a speech, acknowledging the sacrifices made by Irish soldiers and peacekeepers throughout history. The event concludes with a flyover by the Air Corps.
