Press Release Concerning the Forthcoming Referendum on Abortion
In Islam the life of both the mother and the unborn is sacred. Abortion should only be permissible when the mother’s life is in danger.
We are concerned that the repeal of the eighth amendment of the Irish constitution will cause the loss of the constitutional right to life of the unborn.
In the light of this, we, in the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland, would recommend a “NO” vote.
