The Srebrenica Massacre
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland vehemently abhors and deplores the most horrendous act of terrorism, gruesome massacre of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims. It was the worst crime Europe witnessed since World War II.
On July 11th 1995 Serbian forces overran the UN protected zone inhumanely slaughtered men and boys in mass executions, a crime classified by the International Criminal Court and International Criminal Tribunal as a genocide and a crime against humanity.
As the ICCI unequivocally condemns this atrocity, it appeals to the entire world to equally condemn current atrocities and live in peace, respect human rights and shun violence and create a just society where atrocities –of this nature and others- cannot flourish.
