On Thursday January 19th 2017, two members of the Community Welfare Department along with other members of the Community
embarked on a journey to Monasterevin to visit the Syrian refugees staying at Hazel Hotel. The aim of the visit from the members of
the community welfare department was to enlighten the families on the Child Protection laws in Ireland, ultimately hoping to help the
families settle in Ireland without encountering problems in relation to these particular laws. It was a pleasure meeting with the families,
their resilience and hospitality was inspiring considering the traumatic situation they had come from and the circumstances that influenced
their arrival in Ireland.
