The launch coincided with the ICCI's annual conference themed Extremism, Islamophobia and the role of Europe's Muslims in this very challenging environment. Dr El Sayed's talk focussed on shaping one's identity and why and how this must be informed by Islamic values. He outlined a verysensible approach and stressed the importance of being equipped so that one is not easily influenced by others and giving in to the phenomema called "peer pressure". He also emphasised the importance of family values in this quest of shaping ones identity, and impressed on the youth to honour and value one's parents.

Hossam Shaker, said that educating oneself and seeking knowledge was important tools for Muslim youth to successfully navigate the hostile currents faced by Islam and Muslims. If you are educated and informed, he says, you cannot be persuaded to do things that are contary to the teachings of Islam. If you are knowledgeable about Islam he continued, than you are perfectly placed to counter Islamophobic tendencies where they occur.  Knowledge is also key to spreading Islam's positive and humane values, he said.

The three in one event also saw Hossam Shaker handing out trophies to those youth who have excelled in the activities of the Youth Club alongside those who have taken steps in their personal development.
