The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland congratulates the Muslim Community in Ireland on the occasion of the commencement of the blessed Hijri New Year.

The Hijri New Year, also known as the Islamic New Year, is the day that marks the beginning of a new Islamic calendar year. The first day of the year is observed on the first day of Muharram which is the first month in the Islamic calendar. The first day of the New Year was Thursday 16thNovember.

Muslims are encouraged to make a special effort to fast, pray and think about their deeds over the past year.
