Eid Al-Fitr 2018

Another year has passed and another Ramadan has been complete. May Allah accept our fasting and our deeds during this blessed month, and help us to continue on with the good habits formed until the next Ramadan.

Another year has passed and another Ramadan has been complete. May Allah accept our fasting and our deeds during this blessed month, and help us to continue on with the good habits formed until the next Ramadan. Ameen.

The mosque was buzzing with people on Friday June 15th. The highlight seeing the children all smiling and dressed in their Eid best. The Eid prayer took place at 10am, followed by a khutbah by Sheikh Hussein. After this tea and biscuits were served to the community and chocolate was distributed to the children.

Eid is an exciting time for people. It is a celebration to end the month of fasting and allows the community to come together and see friends and acquaintances that they may not get to see often at other times during the year, due to work committments etc.

Activities were arranged around the centre for the children to enjoy with their friends: tug'o'war, huge inflatable slide, penalty shootout, giant buzzer, basketball hoop, henna, face painting, balloon modelling.

There were a few stalls selling clothing, books and gifts and a stall selling cakes, finger foods and sandhiches.

The restaurant had an outside BBQ running as well as serving delicious food indoors. There was ice-cream, a tea/coffee van and a stall selling the ever popular popcorn/candyfloss/iced slushy drink.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to all those who made the day possible.
