The Head of the Community Welfare Department delivered an awareness workshop to members of the Judicial Council of Ireland, at Green Street Courthouse, where many of the members join online to listen and propose questions. This was an opportunity to clarify many of the traditions of the Islamic faith and inform the members of the clear fixed rulings of Islamic law in relation to dealings with Muslims within the courts. All information delivered was endorsed by Sheikh Hussein Halawa.
The four main pillars of the Judicial Council’s remit are to achieve:
- excellence in the performance of judicial functions,
- high standards of conduct among Judges,
- an independent Judiciary, and
- public confidence in the judiciary and in the administration of justice.
We appreciate the opportunity to address members of the Council afforded to the ICCI by the Judicial Council, and we are keen to engage further whenever the opportunity arises.
