On Thursday May 5th 2022, at 10.30am, Supt Tim Burke visited the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland accompanied by Garda Deirdre Gately. They were greeted by our CEO; Ahmed Hasain, and joined in a meeting by Sheikh Hussein Halawa, Sheikh Anwar, Summayah Kenna, and Zahri Dormushev.
The Superintendent's visit is always greatly appreciated by us at the ICCI and he has committed to meeting with us annually and is furthermore committed to enhancing the positive relationship between our organisations.
It was a fruitful visit and we took the opportunity to thank Supt Burke for the support facilitated to us at the ICCI and the Muslim community over the past years and in recent times for the Garda Siochana participation on Multi-Cultural Day at ICCI and Eid ul Fitr Celebrations.
We are very grateful for the visit throughout which we at the ICCI were appreciatively enlightened about the hard work and often unrecognised efforts made by An Garda Siochana to secure and maintain robust and understanding relations with all communities.
Indeed they honour their title 'Guardians of the Peace'.
