On Monday the 7th of November 2022, the ICCI Management & Staff welcomed to the Centre the Director General of Irish Prison Service Caron Mc Cafferty, accompanied by Sean Duggan the Head of Chaplaincy Services, and Edel Higgins Principal Officer for Care & Rehabilitation.
Imam Yahya Al Hussein from the Islamic Foundation of Ireland also joined us for the meeting.
Many issues were discussed pertaining to the welfare of members of the Muslim community who are incarcerated in Irish prisons.
The meeting witnessed the beginning of a partnership between the Irish Prison Service, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland, and the Islamic Foundation of Ireland.
