The community welfare department facilitated a washing and shrouding workshop for the volunteer sisters of Muslim sisters of Eire on Saturday 25th of June. It was facilitated by Sr Amilah.
The sisters were shown the mortuary facilities where the washing and shrouding of deceased members (men, women, children and babies) of our communities are prepared for their funeral/burial.
They were then given a presentation followed by a practical demonstration on how to wash and shroud.
Many thanks to Sr Lorraine from MSOE who reached out to arrange this for her volunteers and to the sisters who attended. It was a very productive and emotional workshop.
