On Saturday March 25th, the community welfare department of the ICCI had the pleasure of welcoming a group of girls and two of their youth leaders from the Northern Ireland Muslim Family Association (NIMFA) which is based in Belfast. Two workshops were carried out with them. Sister Amilah taking them for the first workshop, getting them to work on their own action plans for what they can do to help increase their Iman and improve their connection with their Creator. The second workshop involved Sister Fatima talking to them about confidence building, getting them to reflect on themselves positively and acknowledge their own self-worth. Each girl then gave a little presentation to the group on a topic of her choice. They had a break between these two workshops, which involved half an hour play in the youth club, followed by Duhr prayer and lunch in the restaurant. It was an enjoyable visit, and a pleasure for our department to meet the next generation of young Muslim women from Belfast.
