On Friday, April 26th the junior girls of the ICCI youth club performed a play for parents and friends. It was the concluding result of a 5 day programme held during the Spring break. Their drama teacher Sian worked with the girls to come up with ideas and she wrote the script for them. It was inspired by the stories of Ibn Battuta’s travels, with their own modern day twist. The girls made their own props and costumes. They also had fun getting Sian dressed up with hijab to be the mother in the play. There was humour throughout the play with an eight legged sea monster, a pharaoh, an empress and exciting things happening in their dreams! The girls kept the attention of their audience throughout. The evening ended with a party. One of the parents baked a cake for the girls, thanking the youth leaders for the wonderful play and all their hard work; Sian, Abiola and Fatima.

The youth club made a collection on the night to raise money for the Muslim Sisters of Eire toy drive. They collected €45.

Many thanks to the Muslim National School for allowing the Youth Club to use their hall, and also to all of those involved in the preparation and clean up.
