The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland recently convened a public book review session on the acclaimed and timely title, “ Khuluq Al-Muslim” or Characteristics of a Muslim. Sheikh Hussein Halawa outlined the crucial characteristics that a Muslim needs to have and how s/he should inculcate those traits in his/her overall personality.
Sheikh Halawa spoke passionately and eloquently about how adopting these characteristics help fulfil a Muslim’s duties towards himself, his family, his society, and beyond. This said, Sheikh Halawa, "is central to realising the full purpose of one's being and to find meaning in his life. Sheikh Halwa was joined by Salam Al-Suwaisy, who shed light on the life of Imam Muhammad al-Ghazali,the author of Khuluq Al-Muslim.
Al-Suwaisy described the Imam's early life, education, publications, and highlighted Imam al-Ghazali's significant contribution to reviving the MuslimUmmah and how to cope with the demands of the 21st Century.
