On July 1st, 2018, the ICCI held the first part of its fourth Cultural Forum. The book of the month was “Islam at the Crossroads” by Muhammad Asad.
The first part of the book was presented by Br. Ramadan Abughalia. It included the author’s biography, the introduction of the book, the first chapter “Islam”, as well as the second chapter “West”.
After this initial part of the presentation, the attendees engaged in a fruitful discussion about the main points raised in those first chapters, highlighting the similarities and differences between the Islamic and the Western civilisations.
On Sunday 15th of July, Dr Ahmed El-Habbash carried on with the presentation of the second part of the book. He highlighted the main topics: The Crusades, Education in Islam, importance of Sunnah and the summary of the book. The participants shared their ideas and thoughts, especially on the huge changes that occurred after the publishing of the book in 1934.
