On Saturday 23rd September 2023, the ICCI head of Community Welfare Dept., and the ICCI Administrator from Portlaoise Mosque, traveled to Derry in Northern Ireland at the invitation of N.W. Islamic Centre in Derry.
There our Representatives delivered a training course on washing & shrouding the deceased in accordance with Islamic Sunnah tradition to a number of 20 ladies.
Later that afternoon our Dublin representative delivered a talk to a large, very diverse group from 'Women Together', including the Mayor of Derry. The talk was titled 'Woman in Islam', and it was received enthusiastically. The talk prompted many questions to be asked and addressed, and the appreciation shown by the audience was warmly welcomed.
We endeavor at the Islamic Centre to continually address the misconceptions about Islam and in particular the Community Welfare Dept are keen to dispel any misconceptions regarding Woman in Islam.
