In light of the recent deplorable acts of terror carried out in Tunisia and France, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland issues the following statement:
The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland fervently condemns the atrocious acts of terrorism perpetrated on innocent victims in Tunisia and France.
We at the ICCI extend our heartfelt condolences to the Hayes family from Athlone on their tragic loss of both Laurence and Martina, and to the family of Lorna Carty from Robinstown who also was taken from them in such horrifying circumstances.
Times such as these are harrowing on all those involved and this spills out into wider society creating anger and fear. We at the ICCI stand with all of Ireland in the condemnation of unjustified killings of the innocent. The ICCI positively promotes integration, respect for humankind, and the protection of human life.
The Holy Quran teaches us :
“Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)
