Unique place, new friends, great adventures!
Following the success of last year “Allah the Creator”, this year’s Spring School Holiday trip was organised (from Sunday 25th March until Tuesday 27th March 2018) in continuation of that great experience and ran under the theme “My salah - My life. Being surrounded by amazing scenery added to the meaning of the beauty of the Creator and that our lives are revolving around our salah (prayer).
This year the gathering took place in Green Hill YMCA Adventure Centre in Newcastle – Northern Ireland, located on the Irish Sea in the County Down. The Centre did not disappoint; providing the boys with the perfect mix of character building and modern comforts.
The adventure included bouldering, team games, mountain walk, the thrill and adrenaline rush of archery, challenge courses, blindfold challenge, mini Olympics and lots of football! The tasks proved challenging, but served as a valuable lesson, as we had to show discipline and cooperation in order to complete them.
As with all our gatherings, an Islamic theme ran through all the activities, and the boys commended the balanced programme.
