Press Release from The Three Faiths Forum of Ireland
We, the Three Faiths Forum of Ireland, condemn in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated on the headquarters of the Charlie Hebdo newspaper and on the Kosher Supermarket in Paris.
Our prayers and sympathies are with the victims and their families. These horrendous attacks cannot be justified under any circumstances. In this very critical time, we appeal to society to shun stereotyping.
We uphold the right for freedom of expression. Responsible expression should respect the beliefs, religion, culture and the values of others, especially those among whom we live.
The Three Faiths Forum of Ireland brings together representatives of the three Abrahamic Faiths – Jewish, Muslim and Christian – creating a space for religious dialogue, promoting education, providing accurate information and working together for tolerance, respect and cooperation.
