The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland took part in DLRCC’s Festival of Inclusion whereby junior and senior citizens were invited to attend and engage in an atmosphere of light conversation.
There was a great turnout with senior members of the community, youth, Irish visitors, members of the Dublin City Interfaith forum, 3 members from DLRCC and Councillor Ann Colgan from DLRCC.
Br Mudafar Altawash who has recently retired from the Islamic Foundation of Ireland and Sr Ryma facilitated the event, keeping the room engaged at a high level. Sr Summayah Kenna, head of the ICCI’s community welfare department chaired.
The findings of the event inspired ideas for further programs of its kind with tailored changes. This resulted in offers of engagement and assistance from the DLRCC, in particular for our youth.
We’d like to thank the attendees, the facilitators for the great job and to the youth for their honesty and interaction.
The refreshments at the end of the event were appreciated by all. Many thanks to Sr Leila for her baking!
