On Friday, 20th September 2024, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland warmly welcomed guests for an enriching and engaging Culture Night. This event provided an opportunity for attendees to explore the mosque, connect with the community, and learn more about Islamic culture and traditions.
Guests enjoyed guided tours led by our enthusiastic volunteers, who showcased the beauty and significance of the mosque. Attendees were treated to Moroccan tea and Palestinian biscuits, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all.
The evening featured a meet-and-greet with the Imam, where guests had the chance to ask questions and engage in meaningful conversations. Informational posters displayed in the main prayer hall offered insights into the teachings of Islam and the history of the mosque, enriching the experience for all who attended.
Participants observed the call to prayer and the prayer itself, witnessing the profound spiritual practices that are integral to the Islamic faith. Additionally, they had the opportunity to view the achievements of our Quranic school, highlighting the dedication of our young learners.
A highlight of the evening was the chance for guests to have their names written in Arabic calligraphy, providing a personal touch to their experience.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and to our wonderful volunteers for their dedication and support. A special thank you goes to Discover Islam, who sent two members of their team to meet and greet guests, answer questions, and enhance the overall experience. They also provided informative banners showcasing the three significant mosques in Islam: Al-Masjid al-Haram (Mecca), Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (Medina), and Al-Aqsa Mosque (Jerusalem).
Overall, Culture Night 2024 was a lovely and relaxing evening filled with community spirit, learning, and connection. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for future events!
